WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING...
|
Three of the four key female performers are hits, in
particular Erin Zaruba, who delivers a strong,
passionate version of Cinderella. Her playful
exchanges with the birds that do her bidding are
comically successful, yet she maintains a sense of
reality in the fairy tale.
-Jeff Favre, Backstage West
Erin Zaruba, as Cinderella, was another actor who
was a delight to watch. Strong singing, strong facial
expressions, strong movement. One of the treats of
the performance.
Choreography was by Kat Kramer and Erin Zaruba.
...these were some of the best actors as well,
making them multiple-threats, on and off stage.
-Goldstar.com
Erin Zaruba, who plays Cathy, has the
statuesque magnetism and the powerful
voice to convey both the confident New
Yorker of the early stage, and the
hurting woman at the end.
-Julie Stern, The Newtown Bee
Director Susan Pettibone has cast the very talented Erin Zaruba as
Cathy and Jeff Tuohy as Jamie, and they do everyone proud…. Zaruba
and Tuohy boast excellent voices…
They are on key, on target and plucking heartstrings like the pros they
are.
-Chesley Plemmons, Danbury News-Times
The unique formula creates a dangerous
challenge for actors Zaruba and Tuohy, but one
they both rise to meet with tremendous acting and
vocal talents. In the end, it was the strength of the
two performances that stayed with me coming out
of the theater. Despite the bleakness of the
couple's fate, the spirit and humor Zaruba and
Tuohy bring to the story, in addition to the
minimalist stage design, creates an exhilarating
experience.
-Weston Burg,
Taconic Weekend Theatre Critic
The number called “Mooning” brought out the
comedic talents of Mark Donaldson (Roger) and
Erin Zaruba (Jan) who sang the glories of
mooning their teacher at Rydell High, the
formidable Miss Lynch. The thing that convinces
me that performers are doing an excellent job is
my inability to take my eyes off them when they
sing, dance and act. If they grab my attention so
decisively, they must be doing something right.
-Tom Kane, River Reporter
Erin Zaruba (Cinderella) proves herself as adept a
soprano as she was a belter in the recent shAme,
and her rendition of the very difficult “On The Steps
Of The Palace” combines vocal expertise with some
darned good acting.
